Hadith 3702

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Bakrah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Two months are never incomplete, each of them contains an Eid; they are Ramadan and Dhul-Hijjah.

Brief Explanation
Benefits: … The month of Eid al-Fitr is Shawwal, not Ramadan. However, since this Eid is related to Ramadan and occurs immediately after it, Ramadan has been referred to as the month of Eid. Ramadan and Dhu al-Hijjah are not deficient; various meanings of this phrase have been mentioned, and the following two opinions are considered more reliable:
(1) There is no decrease in their stated virtue and reward, and it makes no difference whether they are of twenty-nine (29) days or thirty (30).
(2) The purpose of the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam is to express the virtue of the deeds performed in the first ten days of Dhu al-Hijjah, meaning that their reward is also not less than that of the month of Ramadan.
