عَنِ ابْنِ مَسْعُودٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ: مَا صُمْتُ مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ تِسْعًا وَعِشْرِينَ أَكْثَرَ مِمَّا صُمْتُ مَعَهُ ثَلَاثِينَ
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas’ud (may Allah be pleased with him) says: Of the fasts I kept with the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), there were more months of Ramadan with 29 days than those with 30 days.
Brief Explanation
Benefits: … Although the Islamic month consists of either twenty-nine (29) days or thirty (30) days, from the aforementioned narrations and experiences it is known that Ramadan and Dhu al-Hijjah also sometimes have (29, 29) and (30, 30) days. Then what will be the meaning of the following hadith?
