Hadith 3675

عَنْ عَوْفِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ عَنْ أَبِي ذَرٍّ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ أَنَّهُ قَالَ: يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ! مَا الصَّوْمُ؟ قَالَ: ((قَرْضٌ مَجْزِيٌّ))
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Dharr (may Allah be pleased with him) that he said: O Messenger of Allah! What is fasting? The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: It is a debt, which will be repaid.
