عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ الشِّخِّيرِ عَنِ الْأَعْرَابِيِّ قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ: ((صَوْمُ شَهْرِ الصَّبْرِ، وَثَلَاثَةِ أَيَّامٍ مِنْ كُلِّ شَهْرٍ يُذْهِبْنَ وَحَرَ الصَّدْرِ))
A Bedouin narrates that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: The fasts of the month of patience and three fasts of every month remove malice and whispers from the heart.
Brief Explanation
Benefits: … By "the month of patience" is meant the month of Ramadan. Every act of worship has its own blessing; when a person, due to fasting, refrains from lying, backbiting, and other forbidden matters, and along with that controls even his lawful desires, this creates an increased inclination towards goodness. Through this, the servant resolves to abandon many evils and to perform many good deeds.
