Hadith 3661

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Mu'adh bin Jabal (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Whoever meets Allah in such a state that he has not associated anyone with Him, is regular in the five prayers, and also fasts in the month of Ramadan, he will be forgiven. I said: O Messenger of Allah! Should I not convey this to the people and give them glad tidings? The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Leave them, so that they may continue to act.

Brief Explanation
Benefits: … The meaning of this blessed hadith is that it does not befit a Muslim to consider his habitual acts of worship as sufficient for himself. See, if a person, keeping this hadith in view, embraces Islam, performs prayer (salah), and observes the fasts of Ramadan, he is forgiven. However, the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam forbade this hadith from being conveyed to the people, lest they confine themselves to only these three deeds and do not perform any further actions.
