Narrated from Sayyida Umm ‘Ammarah bint Ka‘b Ansariyyah (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) came to her house and she brought food for him. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said to her: “You also eat.” But she replied: “I am fasting.” Upon hearing this, the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “When food is eaten in the presence of a fasting person, then as long as those eating have not finished, the angels continue to pray for mercy for the fasting person.”
