عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ: ((إِنَّ اللَّهَ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ لَيَرْفَعُ الدَّرَجَةَ لِلْعَبْدِ الصَّالِحِ فِي الْجَنَّةِ، فَيَقُولُ: يَا رَبِّ أَنَّى لِي هَذِهِ؟ فَيَقُولُ: بِاسْتِغْفَارِ وَلَدِكَ لَكَ))
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: When Allah Almighty elevates the rank of a righteous servant in Paradise, he will ask: O my Lord! How did I attain this rank? Allah Almighty will say: Because of your son's supplication for your forgiveness.
Brief Explanation
Benefits: … Despite such a great virtue, in the present age the specter of haste and self-interest is dancing so wildly that people have badly forgotten their fathers and forefathers, and their mothers and grandmothers. We have even seen such people whose lips cannot move in favor of their father or mother even on the very next day after their passing.
