Hadith 3626

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Sa'id Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: The example of a believer and faith is like that of a horse tied to its stake; it wanders around here and there but returns and stands by the stake. Similarly, a believer may forget, but then he returns to faith. You should feed the righteous and bestow all kinds of goodness upon the people of faith.

Brief Explanation
Benefits: … The essential faith of a believer always remains established; at times, however, he forgets and, leaving his center, begins to wander in the valleys of sins, thus becoming distant from Allah Ta‘ala. But then, when he becomes truly aware, he expresses remorse over what he has done and returns to his Lord.
