Hadith 3585

Sayyiduna Haritha bin Wahb (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Give charity, for a time will soon come when a man will go out with his charity, and whomever he wishes to give it to will say, "If you had brought it yesterday, I would have accepted it, but now I have no need of it." Thus, he will not find anyone who will accept his charity.

Brief Explanation
Benefits: … If a person is wealthy and there are deserving people around him, then he should not deprive himself of charity and almsgiving, considering this as a blessing from Allah Ta‘ala, because it is possible that he may soon be included among the list of the needy, or all those around him may become self-sufficient and stand on their own feet.
