Hadith 3576

(وَعَنْهُ مِنْ طَرِيقٍ ثَانٍ) عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَعَلَى آلِهِ وَصَحْبِهِ وَسَلَّمَ: ((مَنِ اسْتَطَاعَ مِنْكُمْ أَنْ يَتَّقِيَ النَّارَ فَلْيَتَصَدَّقْ وَلَوْ بِشِقِّ تَمْرَةٍ، فَمَنْ لَمْ يَجِدْ فَبِكَلِمَةٍ طَيِّبَةٍ))
(3576) (Second Chain) The Noble Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him and his family, said: Whoever among you has the ability to protect himself from the Fire, let him give charity, even if it is only in the form of half a date. And whoever does not have even that, then let him try to protect himself (from Hell) through good words.
Brief Explanation
Benefits: … By “good words” is meant that one should interact with people with a cheerful countenance and good character, and in this matter, one should not differentiate on the basis of acquaintance or non-acquaintance.
