Sayyida Umm Darda’ (may Allah be pleased with her) says: Sayyiduna Abu Darda’ (may Allah be pleased with him) came to me in a state of anger. I asked: “Who has made you angry?” He said: “By Allah! I do not see anything among these people that contains the command of Muhammad (peace be upon him), except that they pray together.” In another narration it is: “Except for the prayer.”

Benefits: … The last Companion passed away in 110 AH, but due to various reasons, many such virtuous practices had disappeared much earlier, which were present during the Prophetic era and the early period of the Rightly Guided Caliphate. Those who study are aware of this; there is no need to elaborate on the details of the causes. Then, gradually, decline continued, and the fifteenth century Hijri began, in which evil, corruption, and disorder are at their peak.
