Hadith 3516

(Second chain) Sayyiduna Hakim bin Hizam (may Allah be pleased with him) says: I asked the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) and insisted a lot. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: O Hakim! How much you ask! O Hakim! This wealth is attractive and desirable, and along with it, it is also the filth of people's hands. The hand of Allah Almighty is above the hand of the giver, and the hand of the giver is above the hand of the receiver, and the hand of the receiver is the lowest of all.

Brief Explanation
Benefits: … The summary of the ahadith on this subject is that a person does indeed need various means to live a worldly life, but he should strive to fulfill these means through effort according to his ability, and while spending his days and nights freely, he should not look greedily towards anyone’s wealth or property. God forbid, if he is compelled to extend his hand in need, then he should also consider it his right and use it only until his need is fulfilled, without allowing any decrease in his honor and dignity.
