. (Second chain of narration) Sayyiduna Abdul Muttalib bin Rabee’ah (may Allah be pleased with him) and Sayyiduna Fadl bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) both came to the service of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) so that he (peace and blessings be upon him) would arrange their marriages and appoint them over the collection of charity so that they could gain some financial benefit in this way, but the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said to them: These charities are the impurities of the people and they are not lawful for Muhammad and the family of Muhammad. Then he (peace and blessings be upon him) said to Sayyiduna Mahmiya Zubaidi (may Allah be pleased with him): Arrange the marriage of Fadl. And he said to Sayyiduna Naufal bin Harith bin Abdul Muttalib (may Allah be pleased with him): You arrange the marriage of Abdul Muttalib bin Rabee’ah. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) used to appoint Mahmiya Zubaidi over the collection of khumus. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said to him: Pay the dowry of both of them from the khumus. Abdullah bin Harith did not specify its amount.
