عَنْ عُقْبَةَ بْنِ عَامِرٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ: بَعَثَنِي رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ سَاعِيًا فَاسْتَأْذَنْتُهُ أَنْ نَأْكُلَ مِنَ الصَّدَقَةِ فَأَذِنَ لَنَا
Syedna Uqbah bin Amir (may Allah be pleased with him) says: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) sent me to collect Zakat, and when I sought permission to eat from the charity wealth, he (peace and blessings be upon him) granted me permission.
Brief Explanation
Benefits: … In any case, the collector and agent of charity (sadaqah) and zakat may be given their wages from this very wealth.
