It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah, may Allah be pleased with him, that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: The needy person is not the one who goes around among people asking and returns with one or two morsels or one or two dates, but in fact, the needy is the one who cannot fulfill his legitimate needs and feels hesitant to ask people, and due to this quality, his poverty is not even recognized so that charity may be given to him.
