عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَمْرِو (بْنِ الْعَاصِ) رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: ((تُؤْخَذُ صَدَقَاتُ الْمُسْلِمِينَ عَلَى مِيَاهِهِمْ))
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Amr bin al-As (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Zakat should be collected from Muslims at their own places.
Brief Explanation
Benefits: … In this blessed hadith, the issue is explained that the collector (sa‘i) and the official (amil) are made responsible to go to the place of the owner in order to collect zakat, and in this there is ease and convenience for the owners.
