عَنْ أَبِي الزُّبَيْرِ أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ جَابِرَ بْنَ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا خَرَصَهَا ابْنُ رَوَاحَةَ أَرْبَعِينَ أَلْفَ وَسْقٍ، وَزَعَمَ أَنَّ الْيَهُودَ لَمَّا خَيَّرَهُمْ ابْنُ رَوَاحَةَ أَخَذُوا الثَّمَرَ وَعَلَيْهِمْ عِشْرُونَ أَلْفَ وَسْقٍ
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with them both) that Sayyiduna Ibn Rawahah (may Allah be pleased with him) estimated the dates to be forty thousand wasq. Then, when he gave the Jews the choice, they preferred the fruit for themselves, and it was decided that they would pay twenty thousand wasq of dates.
