It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with him), he says that on the day of Badr, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) stood by the well (in which the slain disbelievers were thrown) and said: O so-and-so! O so-and-so! Did you find true what your Lord had promised you? Beware! By Allah, these people are hearing my words at this moment. But Sayyidah Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) said: May Allah have mercy on Abu Abdur Rahman, he has forgotten, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) had actually said that now they know that what I used to say to them was the truth. Because Allah the Exalted has said: Surely, you cannot make the dead hear . And He also said: Nor can you make those hear who are in the graves .

Brief Explanation
Benefits: Regarding this issue, the noble hadith narrated from Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik radi Allahu anhu states that the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam called out to the disbelievers who were killed in the Battle of Badr, addressing them by their names and the names of their fathers. Upon this, Sayyiduna Umar radi Allahu anhu said: O Messenger of Allah! How are you speaking to bodies in which there are no souls?
