Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Amr bin al-As (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) mentioned the examiners (angels) of the grave. Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) said: O Messenger of Allah! Will our intellects be returned to us there? He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Yes, just as they are today. So Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) said: A stone in his mouth.

Brief Explanation
Benefits: … By "Fattan" is meant the angels who put one to trial and test in the grave. "A stone in his mouth"—Sayyiduna Umar radi Allahu anhu, through these words, wishes to express the firmness of faith in his heart: that when the angels question him in the grave, he will give them such a correct answer that they will become silent. Among the Arabs, these words are an idiom for silencing the questioner.
