Hadith 3296

عَنْ مَعْقِلِ بْنِ يَسَارٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: ((يَاسٓ قَلْبُ الْقُرْآنِ، لَا يَقْرَؤُهَا رَجُلٌ يُرِيدُ اللَّهَ تَعَالَى وَالدَّارَ الْآخِرَةَ إِلَّا غُفِرَ لَهُ وَاقْرَؤُهَا عَلَى مَوْتَاكُمْ))
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ma’qil bin Yasar (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Surah Yasin is the heart of the Noble Qur’an. Whoever recites it seeking Allah Almighty and the home of the Hereafter, he will be forgiven. And recite this Surah over those who are near death.

Benefits: … The fundamental law of the pure Shari‘ah is that everyone is himself responsible for his own good and evil deeds, as is stated in the noble verse: {مَنْ عَمِلَ صَالِحًا فَلِنَفْسِہٖ وَمَنْ اَسَائَ فَعَلَیْھَا} (Surah Fussilat: 46)
