Hadith 3289

Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the brother from Banu Sa'idah, Sayyiduna Sa'd bin 'Ubadah Sa'idi (may Allah be pleased with him), his mother passed away while he was not present. Later, he asked the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him): O Messenger of Allah! My mother died in my absence, now if I give charity on her behalf, will she benefit from it? The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Yes. So he said: I make you (peace and blessings be upon him) a witness that my garden named Mukhraf (or Mukhraf) is charity for her.
