Sayyiduna Ali bin Abi Talib (may Allah be pleased with him) says: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) sent an Ansari to level every grave and to break every idol, but he said: O Messenger of Allah! I dislike entering the houses of my people. Therefore, you (peace and blessings be upon him) sent for me. When I came, you (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Ali! Do not be a mischief-maker or arrogant, nor be a trader, except a trader of goodness. These people are those who procrastinate in deeds or lag behind others.

Brief Explanation
Benefits: … That is, they say, “We will do it today, we will do it tomorrow, we will eventually do it.” They keep spending time making such statements, but they are not granted the ability (tawfiq) to actually do the work. This is a very dangerous attitude, the result of which is only deprivation. May Allah, the Exalted, protect us from this attitude. (Ameen) One should develop the habit of performing good deeds quickly and at the earliest opportunity. (Abdullah Rafiq)
