بَابُ النَّهْيِ عَنْ سَبِّ الْأَمْوَاتِ وَذِكْرِ مَسَاوِئِهِمْChapter on the prohibition of reviling the dead and mentioning their faults
Hadith 3248

عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: ((لَا تَسُبُّوا مَوْتَانَا فَتُؤْذُوا أَحْيَاءَنَا))
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Do not speak ill of our deceased, for by doing so you will cause us distress.
