Brief Explanation
Benefits: … By "voice" is meant wailing, shrieking and crying, and disliked and innovative acts such as specific dhikr (remembrance) in a loud voice. Among us, some people repeat the phrase of the "kalimah shahadah" (testimony of faith) while shouldering the bier; this phrase is both non-Sunnah and meaningless. Qais bin ‘Abad says: "The Companions of the Prophet (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) used to dislike raising the voice at funerals." (Sunan al-Bayhaqi: 4/74)
