Brief Explanation
Benefits: … The summary of the blessed ahadith of this chapter is that one should accompany the funeral procession on foot; however, it is also permissible to go while riding. Those walking with the funeral may walk in front of, behind, to the right, or to the left of the bier. The most virtuous is to walk behind, because this is what the general ahadith also indicate, and the statement of Sayyiduna Ali radi Allahu anhu is also very clear in this regard. Those who are riding should remain behind. On the return, it is permissible to ride without any dislike.
