Hadith 3176

عَنْ أَبِي سُلَيْمَانَ الْمُؤَذِّنِ قَالَ: تُوُفِّيَ أَبُو سَرِيحَةَ، فَصَلَّى عَلَيْهِ زَيْدُ بْنُ أَرْقَمَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ فَكَبَّرَ عَلَيْهِ أَرْبَعًا، وَقَالَ: كَذَا فَعَلَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ
It is narrated from Abu Salman the muezzin that Abu Sarihah (Hudhaifah bin Asid) passed away and Sayyiduna Zaid bin Arqam (may Allah be pleased with him) led his funeral prayer and said four takbirs in it and said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) also did the same.
Brief Explanation
Benefits: … This hadith is weak; its further explanation will be given with the next hadith. Nevertheless, four takbirs are established from the action of the Noble Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam.
