Hadith 3175

عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ: ((كَبِّرُوا عَلَى مَوْتَاكُمْ بِاللَّيْلِ وَالنَّهَارِ أَرْبَعَ تَكْبِيرَاتٍ))
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Whether it is day or night, when you pray over your dead, say four takbirs.
Brief Explanation
Benefits: … This hadith is indeed weak; however, four takbirs are established from the action of the Noble Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam.
