Hadith 3163

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Hudhaifah bin Asid (may Allah be pleased with him) that one day the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) came and said: "Offer the funeral prayer for your brother who has passed away in a foreign land." The companions asked: "O Messenger of Allah! Who is he?" He replied: "Sahmah Najashi." Thus, the companions stood up and offered his funeral prayer.

Benefits: … The name of this Najashi was "Ashamah," as has been mentioned in the previous hadith. Those narrations in which his name is stated as "Sahmah" or "Samahah" are rare (shaadh) narrations.
