It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) that a man from the tribe of Banu Aslam came to the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and confessed to committing adultery, but the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) turned away from him. He confessed again, but the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) again turned away, until he had testified against himself four times. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) asked him: "Are you insane?" He replied: "No." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) then asked: "Are you married?" He replied: "Yes." Upon hearing this, the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) ordered that he be stoned to death, so he was taken to the Eid ground or the funeral ground and stoned. When the stones struck him, he ran away, but he was caught and stoned further until he died. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) spoke good words about him, but did not perform his funeral prayer.
