عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ: فَدَفَنَهُمْ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَلَمْ يُصَلِّ عَلَيْهِمْ
Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) reports that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) buried the martyrs of Uhud without performing the funeral prayer over them.
Brief Explanation
Benefits: … In the chapter “The Statement Regarding Not Giving the Martyr (shahid) a Ritual Bath (ghusl),” it has already been established that both performing and not performing the funeral prayer (salat al-janazah) for the martyr (shahid) are permissible.
