Hadith 3135

(وَعَنْهُ مِنْ طَرِيقٍ ثَانٍ) عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: ((مَنْ تَبِعَ جَنَازَةً حَتَّى يُصَلِّيَ عَلَيْهَا فَإِنَّ لَهُ قِيرَاطًا))، فَسُئِلَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنِ الْقِيرَاطِ، فَقَالَ: ((مِثْلُ أُحُدٍ))
(Second Chain) The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: Whoever walks with a funeral procession until the funeral prayer is offered for it, for him is the reward of one qirat. When he, peace and blessings be upon him, was asked about the qirat, he, peace and blessings be upon him, said: It is like the mountain of Uhud.
Brief Explanation
Benefits: … Among the Arabs, "qirat" was the name of a weight consisting of a very small amount, therefore the Companions, keeping this in view, asked the question. Further clarification will come at the end of the chapter.
