بَابُ مَا جَاءَ فِي أَنَّ الْمَيِّتَ يُعَذَّبُ بِبُكَاءِ أَهْلِهِ عَلَيْهِChapter on what is reported that the deceased is punished by his family's weeping over him
Hadith 3067

عَنْ عَائِشَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهَا قَالَتْ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ: ((كَانَ الْكَافِرُ مِنْ كُفَّارِ قُرَيْشٍ يَمُوتُ فَيَبْكِيهِ أَهْلُهُ، فَيَقُولُونَ: الْمُطْعِمُ الْجِفَانِ، الْمُقَاتِلُ الَّذِي، فَيَزِيدُهُ اللَّهُ عَذَابًا بِمَا يَقُولُونَ))
It is narrated from Sayyidah Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: When any disbeliever from among the Quraysh died, his family would weep over him and say: The one who fed many people, the one who fought... Because of these words, Allah Almighty would increase his punishment.
