Hadith 3063

(وَعَنْهُ مِنْ طَرِيقٍ ثَانٍ) عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ عُرْوَةَ قَالَ: حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي أَنَّ عَائِشَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهَا قَالَتْ لَهُ: يَا ابْنَ أُخْتِي، إِنَّ أَبَا عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ تَعْنِي ابْنَ عُمَرَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا أَخْطَأَ سَمْعُهُ؟ إِنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ ذَكَرَ رَجُلًا يُعَذَّبُ فِي قَبْرِهِ بِعَمَلِهِ وَأَهْلُهُ يَبْكُونَ عَلَيْهِ وَإِنَّهَا وَاللَّهِ مَا تَزِرُ وَازِرَةٌ وَزْرَ أُخْرَى
(Second chain) Sayyida Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) said to Urwah: My nephew! Abu Abdur Rahman, that is, Ibn Umar, has made a mistake in what he heard. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) mentioned a man who was being punished for the crime of his deeds, and his family was weeping over him. By Allah, no bearer of burden shall bear the burden of another soul.
Brief Explanation
Benefits: … There are two separate hadiths narrated from Sayyidah Aisha and Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (radi Allahu anhum), and the meanings of both are also different from each other. Why is the deceased punished because of the weeping of the family of the deceased? The answer to this is coming ahead.
