Hadith 3058

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah, may Allah be pleased with him, that the Noble Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: There are two practices from the era of ignorance which people will never abandon: wailing over the dead and casting aspersions on lineage.

Brief Explanation
Benefits: … What is meant by reviling lineage is that a person attributes himself to someone other than his (real) father, or that someone taunts another on the basis of his father, mother, or tribe, such as saying, “He is the son of such-and-such a lowly father,” or, “His connection is with such-and-such an inferior tribe.”
