(Second chain) I saw the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, that he kissed Sayyiduna Uthman bin Maz'oon, may Allah be pleased with him, while he was deceased. I saw that the tears of the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, were flowing on Uthman's cheeks. Abdur Rahman said: And the eyes of the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, were flowing, or he said that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, was weeping.

Brief Explanation
Benefits: … In this regard, only the act of Sayyiduna Abu Bakr radi Allahu anhu kissing the Messenger of Allah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam is established. The scholars have said that since none of the Companions objected to this, it will be considered as the consensus (ijma‘) of the Companions. Moreover, this is a matter of worldly dealings (mu‘amalat), not worship (‘ibadah), so if its prohibition is not found in any text, it will be deemed permissible.
