Hadith 3025

عَنْ أَبِي عَزَّةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ: ((إِنَّ اللَّهَ تَبَارَكَ وَتَعَالَى إِذَا أَرَادَ قَبْضَ رُوحِ عَبْدٍ بِأَرْضٍ جَعَلَ لَهُ فِيهَا أَوْقَاتًا بِهَا حَاجَةً))
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Azza (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: When Allah Almighty intends to seize the soul of a servant in a certain region, He creates a need for him in that region.
Brief Explanation
Benefits: … Sayyiduna Abdullah ibn Mas'ud radi Allahu anhu narrates that the Messenger of Allah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam said: "When the appointed time (ajal) of one of you is in a certain land, Allah establishes for him a need (hajah) to go there. When he reaches the furthest point of his trace (i.e., the end of his life), He causes him to die there. Then, on the Day of Resurrection, the earth will say: 'O my Lord! This is the one whom You entrusted to me.'" (Ibn Majah: 2/566, al-Sahihah: 1222)
That is: "The place in which a person is destined to die, Allah Most High creates some need (as a pretext) for him to reach that place. When that person reaches the final traces of his (life), then death comes to him. On the Day of Resurrection, the earth will say: O my Lord! This is (the servant) whom You entrusted to me."
The time and place of every person's death has already been decreed; for each person, some pretext is created and he reaches his destined place of death.
