It is narrated from Sayyida Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that Sayyiduna Bilal (may Allah be pleased with him) came to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) and said: O Messenger of Allah! Such-and-such woman has passed away and found comfort. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) moved forward in anger and said: Only and only the one who enters Paradise finds comfort. In another narration, it is: The one who is forgiven.

Brief Explanation
Benefits: … We cannot say about any deceased person, whether righteous or wicked, that he has attained comfort or has been seized by punishment, because the knowledge of this matter belongs only to Allah Ta‘ala: who is truly righteous, who is wicked, whose good deeds were not accepted, and whose evil deeds were forgiven. We may express our opinion based on good or bad assumptions, but not as a definitive conclusion. In any case, after death, the one who enters Paradise truly attains comfort, and the one who does not receive Paradise faces great distress. Regarding those individuals whom the Prophet (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) explicitly named as being among the people of Paradise, it is certainly correct to say about them with certainty that they have attained comfort.
