Hadith 2994

عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ عَنْ حَارِثَةَ، قَالَ أَتَيْنَا خَبَّابًا رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ نَعُودُهُ فَقَالَ: لَوْ لَا أَنِّي سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ: ((لَا يَتَمَنَّى أَحَدُكُمْ الْمَوْتَ)) لَتَمَنَّيْتُهُ
Haritha says: We went to visit Sayyiduna Khabbab (may Allah be pleased with him) during his illness. He said: If I had not heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) saying this, I would certainly have wished for death. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: No person should ever wish for death.
Brief Explanation
Benefits: … At that time, Sayyiduna Khabbab radi Allahu anhu was severely wounded, and seven parts of his body had been branded, due to which he was suffering intense pain, yet he held firmly to patience.
