Hadith 2952

عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا قَالَ: غَزَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ سِتَّ مِرَارٍ قَبْلَ صَلَاةِ الْخَوْفِ وَكَانَتْ صَلَاةُ الْخَوْفِ فِي السَّنَةِ السَّابِعَةِ
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him), he says that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) undertook six expeditions before the Prayer of Fear, and the Prayer of Fear was legislated in the seventh year after the Hijrah.

Brief Explanation
Benefits: … The six expeditions (ghazawat) referred to are those in which actual fighting took place. They are, in order: the Battle of Badr, the Battle of Uhud, the Battle of Khandaq (the Trench), the Battle of Qurayzah, the Battle of Muraysi‘, and the Battle of Khaybar. In this chapter, the form of the Prayer of Fear (salat al-khawf) is mentioned in which the enemy is positioned between the Muslim army and their qiblah (direction of prayer).
