(The Fourth Chain) Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) says: In the time of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), people were afflicted with drought. On a Friday, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was delivering the sermon when a Bedouin man stood up and said: O Messenger of Allah! The livestock have perished and the families are hungry, so pray to Allah to give us water. So the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) raised his hands (and prayed), while there was not a patch of cloud visible in the sky. Then clouds gathered like mountains, and before the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) had descended from the pulpit, we saw the rain falling upon his blessed beard. (Then the rest of the hadith was narrated.)
