بَابُ صِفَةِ صَلَاةِ الِاسْتِسْقَاءِ وَالْخُطْبَةِ لَهَا وَالْجَهْرِ بِالْقِرَاءَةِ فِيهَاChapter on the description of the prayer for rain, its sermon, and reciting aloud in it
Hadith 2930

عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ خَرَجَ مُتَخَشِّعًا مُتَضَرِّعًا مُتَوَاضِعًا مُتَبَذِّلًا مُتَرَسِّلًا فَصَلَّى بِالنَّاسِ رَكْعَتَيْنِ كَمَا يُصَلِّي فِي الْعِيدِ لَمْ يَخْطُبْ كَخُطْبَتِكُمْ هَٰذِهِ
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) says: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) came out in a state of fear, supplicating earnestly, showing humility, wearing old clothes, and walking with pauses. Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) led the people in two units of prayer like the Eid prayer, and he did not deliver a sermon like your sermon.
