بَابُ مَنْ رَوَى أَنَّهَا رَكْعَتَانِ فِي كُلِّ رَكْعَةٍ أَرْبَعُ رُكُوعَاتٍChapter on those who reported it is two rak'ahs, each with four bowings

عَنْ رَجُلٍ يُدْعَى حَنَشًا عَنْ عَلِيٍّ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ: كَسَفَتِ الشَّمْسُ فَصَلَّى عَلِيٌّ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ لِلنَّاسِ فَقَرَأَ يَسٓ أَوْ نَحْوَهَا، ثُمَّ رَكَعَ نَحْوًا مِنْ قَدْرِ السُّورَةِ، ثُمَّ رَفَعَ رَأْسَهُ فَقَالَ سَمِعَ اللَّهُ لِمَنْ حَمِدَهُ، ثُمَّ قَامَ قَدْرَ السُّورَةِ يَدْعُو وَيُكَبِّرُ، ثُمَّ رَكَعَ قَدْرَ قِرَاءَتِهِ أَيْضًا، ثُمَّ قَالَ سَمِعَ اللَّهُ لِمَنْ حَمِدَهُ، ثُمَّ قَامَ أَيْضًا قَدْرَ السُّورَةِ، ثُمَّ رَكَعَ قَدْرَ ذَلِكَ أَيْضًا حَتَّى صَلَّى أَرْبَعَ رَكَعَاتٍ ثُمَّ قَالَ سَمِعَ اللَّهُ لِمَنْ حَمِدَهُ، ثُمَّ سَجَدَ، ثُمَّ قَالَ فِي الرَّكْعَةِ الثَّانِيَةِ فَفَعَلَ كَفِعْلِهِ فِي الرَّكْعَةِ الْأُولَى ثُمَّ جَلَسَ يَدْعُو وَيُرَغِّبُ حَتَّى انْكَشَفَتِ الشَّمْسُ، ثُمَّ حَدَّثَهُمْ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَذَلِكَ فَعَلَ
A man named Hanash says: The sun was eclipsed, and Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) led the people in prayer. He recited Surah Yasin or another similar surah, then bowed (ruku) for the length of that surah, then raised his head and said: "Sami' Allahu liman hamidah." Then he stood for the length of a surah and made further supplication and glorified Allah, then bowed again for the length of the recitation, then said "Sami' Allahu liman hamidah," and then stood for the length of a surah, and then bowed again for the same length. In total, he completed four bowings (ruku), then said "Sami' Allahu liman hamidah," after which he performed prostration (sajdah). Then he stood for the second rak'ah and performed it in the same manner as the first rak'ah. (After finishing the prayer) he sat and began to supplicate and encouraged (the people), until the sun became clear. Then he explained to the people that indeed the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) had done the same.
