عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَانَ يَبْدَأُ يَوْمَ الْفِطْرِ وَيَوْمَ الْأَضْحَى بِالصَّلَاةِ قَبْلَ الْخُطْبَةِ ثُمَّ يَخْطُبُ فَتَكُونُ خُطْبَتُهُ الْأَمْرَ بِالْبَعْثِ وَالسَّرِيَّةِ
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Sa'id Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to begin with the prayer before the sermon on the days of Eid al-Fitr and Eid al-Adha, then he would deliver the sermon, and his sermon would also be about sending out armies and detachments.
