It is narrated from Sayyiduna Buraidah Aslami (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to eat something before going out on the day of Eid al-Fitr, and on the day of sacrifice (Eid al-Adha), he would eat after returning (from the Eid prayer).
