Hadith 282

عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ: ((تَسْمَعُونَ وَيُسْمَعُ مِنْكُمْ، يُسْمَعُ مِمَّنْ يَسْمَعُ مِنْكُمْ))
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "You listen, and you will be listened to, and those who listen from you, they too will be listened to."

Benefits: … This report is in the sense of a command, that is, the intent of the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam is that the noble Companions, after hearing from him sallallahu alayhi wa sallam, should memorize it, and then those who come after should hear it from them. In this way, this chain should continue so that the message may reach future generations.
