Sayyiduna Bara’ bin Azib (may Allah be pleased with him) reports that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: It is obligatory upon Muslims to perform ghusl (ritual bath) on the day of Jumu’ah and to apply perfume if their family possesses it, and if not, then water is the purest of all.
