بَابُ هَلْ يَأْخُذُ الْقَوْمُ مَصَافَّهُمْ قَبْلَ الْإِمَامِ أَمْ لَاChapter on whether people should take their rows before the Imam or not
Hadith 2664

عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ أَبِي قَتَادَةَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ: ((إِذَا أُقِيمَتِ الصَّلَاةُ ’’وَفِي رِوَايَةٍ إِذَا نُودِيَ لِلصَّلَاةِ‘‘ فَلَا تَقُومُوا حَتَّى تَرَوْنِي وَعَلَيْكُمُ السَّكِينَةَ))
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Qatadah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: When the iqamah for prayer is called, do not stand up until you see me, and adhere to calmness.
