عَنْ سَعْدِ بْنِ أَبِي وَقَّاصٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ: ((إِنَّ مِنْ أَكْبَرِ الْمُسْلِمِينَ فِي الْمُسْلِمِينَ جُرْمًا رَجُلًا سَأَلَ عَنْ شَيْءٍ وَنَقَّرَ عَنْهُ حَتَّى أُنْزِلَ فِي ذَلِكَ الشَّيْءِ تَحْرِيمٌ مِنْ أَجَلِ مَسْأَلَتِهِ))
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Sa’d bin Abi Waqqas, may Allah be pleased with him, that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: “Among the Muslims, the greatest sinner is the one who asks about a thing and investigates it so much that, because of his question, the ruling of its prohibition is revealed.”
