Hadith 2626

عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ: صَلَّيْتُ مَعَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي بَيْتِ أُمِّ حَرَامٍ فَأَقَامَنِي عَنْ يَمِينِهِ وَأُمُّ حَرَامٍ خَلْفَنَا
Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) says: I performed prayer with the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) in the house of Sayyida Umm Haram (may Allah be pleased with her). The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) made me stand on his right side and Sayyida Umm Haram (may Allah be pleased with her) was standing behind us.

Benefits: … The summary of these narrations is that two followers (muqtadis) will stand behind the imam; however, a woman will stand alone in the row. She cannot stand alongside men in the same row, even if the person in the row is a small child.
