بَابُ مَا جَاءَ فِي التَّشْدِيدِ عَلَى مَنْ تَخَلَّفَ عَنِ الْجَمَاعَةِ خُصُوصًا الْعِشَاءِ وَالْفَجْرِChapter on the severity regarding those who miss the congregation, especially 'Isha and Fajr
Hadith 2472

عَنْ سَهْلٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ (يَعْنِي مُعَاذَ بْنَ أَنَسٍ الْجُهَنِيَّ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ) عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنَّهُ قَالَ: ((الْجَفَاءُ كُلُّ الْجَفَاءِ وَالْكُفْرُ وَالنِّفَاقُ مَنْ سَمِعَ مُنَادِيَ اللَّهِ نَادَى بِالصَّلَاةِ يَدْعُو إِلَى الْفَلَاحِ وَلَا يُجِيبُهُ))
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Mu’adh bin Anas al-Juhani, may Allah be pleased with him, that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: (There is) distance from Allah’s mercy, great distance, disbelief and hypocrisy, in the person who hears Allah’s caller giving the adhan for prayer and calling towards success, but does not accept his call (and does not come for congregational prayer).
